Blended Learning

For the first nine weeks, students are in a schedule that blends time spent at school and home while participating in their learning. A Blended Learning scenario is used to reduce time spent in larger groups, to reduce cross contamination to provide more time for sanitizing and to assist in mitigating risks.

  • Any virtual learning that is full-time with no in-person attendance must remain there for a semester.
  • School utilizing the WV Learns platform and curriculum. The teacher is a WV Virtual School teacher. This option is rigorous and self-paced. Success with this option is dependent upon being an independent and motivated learner.
  • Taylor Co offers this in a full-time option for Home Schooled students to return to the public school system.
  • This option is also offered for students with scheduling conflicts or course availability in a brick and mortar school. It is also offered to home schooled students and is limited to two courses per semester.
  • Any virtual option is for one semester at a time and is determined by Taylor Co Schools.

Once you have made a decision on which option best suits your family, click on the registration  link below to complete the Learning Option Application. Each family must complete one application per child enrolled in Taylor County School District. In order for the county to plan for the different modes of education, we must know enrollment numbers to assign staff.

If you are unable to access this link for any reason such as lack of a device or no internet, please feel free to call the Taylor County Central Office (304.265.2497, ext 1150) and assistance will be provided. All applications for registration must be completed by August 19, 2020.

Thank you… Christy Miller,  Superintendent
